I love the guy but I worry about him. I could see his brand of humor going over the edge and getting him in trouble.

I've read he's a down to earth guy. Likes to party and golf, sounds good to me.

What is it with comedians? It seems like their careers aren't much longer than professional athletes. They all seem to go to seed after 10-12 years of success. That's too bad. I love Bill Murray, but haven't seen him in a while until this.

The last time I saw him, it was in a Cigar Afficianado interview.

Murray does shows all the time and gets big bucks to host celebrity golf tourneys, ect....

Check out a bio on Jackie Mason--he was pals with Myer Lansky in the 50s and is still going strong in vegas, ect...

I was generalizing, of course. I know there are exceptions.

I think it is because it is a very trend oriented business--I mean, how long can the redneck joke thing stay fresh, yet all these guys are stereotyped in it. The real pros survive and adapt like Robin Williams, ect...

Few comedians stay funny for a long time. Bill Cosby is probably the greatest exception to that rule. He has been funny since the early 60s.

The late, great Rodney Dangerfield is another one who stayed funny for a long time.

Bill Murray, by the way, is another comedian who has stayed funny, in part because he has adapted and grown. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, IMO.
