I don't have one. I borrowed that image from an ad on gunlist.
I am sure the bolts would interchange with another gun. |

I ended up with my dad's Winchester Model 72, I really like that gun. Been in the family for years. My brother on leave from the army ended up loosing the bolt. My father would have shot him, except he didn't have the bolt. My brother did find a replacement but it had a funky handle, sometime later I found the right one and everything's fine now. That was all years ago and have no idea where the parts came from.

I found it but...
The handle is broke. I remembered changing it cause it was funky, but I guess it was cause it was broke too.
But from the picture it's different. This one screws into a ring that goes around the bolt so when you lift the handle the bolt stays straight. If I get a change I'll post a picture of it. |

Will ask this weekend
Tom,
I'll call my gun-shop friend this weekend and see what he can recommend. He is a tool and die maker by trade, do you think your existing part is repairable? It may take a new fabricated bolt handle. Chuck |

I have a friend who is a pretty fair machinist. I suspect he or someone could turn a handle on a lathe and screw it into the bolt.

Tom - some progress
I finally got ahold of my buddy. He searched 4 parts manuals and finally found mention of the model 58. It was a fairly low volume production item, about 40,000 made. It does share a bolt with 3 other models, a couple were high volume models from the early 1900's.
Tom, send me a pm with an email address. I'll send a message back to you and my friend. He can scan a parts catalog with some part numbers and email to you. He knows of 2 companies that are the equivalent of auto junk yards and can give you the contact info. They part out old guns and then sell the parts. Sorry it took so long, my friend has been having a time with his teenage son. Chuck |
