Goodbye and Godspeed Colin Mcrae

WRC Champion several times over. Watched him win with the Subaru in the early 90's. Almost painted my Soob wagon like the rally car. What a shame.

Put Subaru on map, my favorite rally driver along with Walter Rohrl, he will be solely missed in WRC by all.

I was little more than a casual rally fan, I enjoyed watching it on the tube if I was flipping by but I didn't search it out. Mainly because I've got so much other stuff on my plate. But I knew exactly who Colin McRae was (and his WRX) when I saw the scroller on the bottom of the screen on ESPN, which probably speaks volumes about his impact. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I hadn't even read the news until I read this post.

What gets me more is that his 5-yr old son was killed too; at least Colin had an amazing life and accomplished so much - his little boy never got the chance.

When we were looking for a car one of the many points that settled us into a Subaru Legacy was that Colin Mcrae drove these Suby's to hell and back, its got to count for something!

RIP

Its amazing how many well to do famous people kill themselves in their private flying machines.
