markings on a military round
ok.. I cleaned up this random .50 cal round I had in my room.. I remember getting it years ago at an air show that my grandpa took me to.
the markings on bottom are DM with a 43... what does it mean... 43 is a year.. perhaps? 1943? and where can I buy deactivated 7.62x51mm NATO rounds? I have an idea for a new art project that involves alot of them.. Last edited by TheDon; 10-02-2007 at 03:37 PM. |

man, that ammo's hard to come by. It's 99.99% impossiable to get a round off a range. At BCT they grabbed little jones (weighed like a buck 5, mabey) took him upside-down and shook him, and had him scream no brass no ammo drill Sergent
It was pretty badass and funny at the same time... That was fun **** Anyways I should go to bed That's a rare round BTW ~Nate

Years ago, ( like 20) I was drilling soil exploration borings at Quantico, the Marine base. We were in a "free-fire zone"--at least thats what we we told--It did make us check with security every day to make sure it was safe to work.
The ground was literally covered with shell casings, thousands of them. Large signs were posted advising that warned us not to take any. We didn't.
