We raised milk goats. I milked'em because they liked me more than Mrs B.

We butchered one kid. Guess who ate it--Mrs B looked at me as though I had eaten one of her own babies. No more cabrito in the Bot farm.

Common red meat in India, lamb comes after goat, for Hindus goat and lamb are the only red meat they eat, the Indian non veg cooking centers around goat meat so they have some really nice ways to cook it.

Goat is tasty when cooked right. It can be kind of tough when cooked wrong. I always kind of liked goats better than sheep; although lamb is delicious. As always, I'm a huge supporter of our 4 legged freinds and our ability to cook them up deliciously.

When I worked in Argentina we ate goat at almost every evening meal. I spent almost 2 months encamped north of Neuquen and that's about all there was that was readily available. Oh yeah, we also ate rhea, a bird with more texture and flavor than I could acquire a taste for. It was interesting.

Goats are more browsers than grazers, they prefer parts of woody plants over grasses.

Grazers prefer grasses and get more nutrition from the seeds than any other part of the grass.

Roast goat tastes good on the 4th of July.
