Fight Big Government! Preserve the Mercedes Collector Car Hobby!!!

And do me a big favor. :D

In my hometown, Pink Hill, NC, the current town board is trying to get a new zoning ordinance passed. This ordinance will only allow each resident to own ONE unlicensed car. (I own 3, a 1968 Lincoln Continental, currently not running, in the process of being restored. 1975 Chevrolet Corvette, I let the licenses lapse due to it needing engine work, a 1981 Cadillac Seville which is waiting until the conny is done to start restoration work.) I would be required to get license, insurance, and state inspection on all 3 (none of which are road worthy at the moment, so no inspections), and I was planning on trying to get either a 108 or 116 MB for a resto-project this year. I keep my older cars behind my house, under car covers, and they don't hurt anyone.

So PLEASE Sign this petition at
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/PINKHILLNOZONE

You aren't required to be a Pink Hill resident, its just showing support for a fellow MB owner. It is considered a purely symbolic gesture, but is greatly appreciated by me, and all of the other collector car owners in Pink Hill. This petition is just to show the town government that somebody is trying to stand up to them.

Thanks, Dave.

I know him. He lives outside of the city limits. It doesn't concern him. (I checked).

I grew up down the road from you, Dave. I signed the petition, too. Good luck with that.

In my city unregistered cars really can't be outside. I have one in the back yard on the tarp but could be called on it.

Good luck fighting it.

Signed, good luck. -John.

Laws are stupid.. So what if we collect cars and have a parts car.. It is in my backyard under a nice tarp in a fenced yard... so what... you can't see it unless you enter my back yard..

I signed it as well.. Down with Big Government!!!

vote Ron Paul!

Went to the petition site, didn't see anything about unregistered cars.
I think this is a matter best left to the residents.

Well, Grady, I hope you weren't counting on us to fill up your petition. I live in a neighborhood where you can't have but so many cars at your house regardless of whether or not they are registered, running, or whatever. I didnn't think they were so uptight down there in eastern NC.

I wish you well, though.

This isn't big government. This is exactly the way it should be. Small municipalities deciding what's best for their own communities without the "help" of big government.

I just wanted to let everyone who signed the petition, thanks. We elected 2 candidates on an anti-zoning platform, and tied one of the incumbents (we are having a runoff next week). There are only 3 seats on the board, so we took over the town :D. Through the Anti-Zoning coalition, I posted signs, printed pamphlets, stumped for candidates, and made full use of my 560 as a conveyance for our candidates to and fro events here in town (a off duty police officer we knew was the driver) :). So the old cars are safe. :)

Thanks, Dave.
