I think he would make a good president because he relies on basic core beliefs and principles. His message is simple, ala Ronald Reagan, with a liberal twist that appeals to young people. I have a slight problem with the medical marijuana issue though. In California, where it's legal, it seems pretty easy for anyone to get a "doctors note" to carry your stash.

I love the lets get rid of the IRS part. I'll vote for him just for that.
I generaly hate the government and will support any candidate that wants to shrink it. I hope he wins I'll vote for him thats for sure.

I'd probably change my "No Demopublicans" pledge if he actually got the Repo nod. But he ain't, so I'm safe. What I appreciate about his candidacy and the extraordinary support he has gotten is that it will force politicians to realize there is a significant minority of people who are increasingly sympathetic to his core beliefs. His core beliefs are a threat to the status quo --> Washington Group-Think. Anything that undermines that madness can't be all bad.
I think almost everybody will find some nugget within libertarianism that they will find repulsive. Liberty is like that -- it's a risky thing, freedom. Our politicians are desperate to protect us from it. My big difference with him is over Iraq. And it is big. However, we agree on everything else of consequence so I can take that bitter pill, if I can have at least some of the rest. B |
