JimB and the old Berkely "hippie"

Tonight I had the opportunity to meet and have dinner with JimB CMAC2012. I am traveling in Sacramento for business and JimB graciously arranged it for Carl and Jim to met with me for dinner.

I was a very nice meeting, we had good food (Tres Hermanas restaurant in downtown Sacramento) and even better conversation.

Thank you Jim for setting it up and thank you Carl for showing up. I am glad that we never had our boxing match....it is tough to beat up on a nice guy like you.

J/K Carl, you are in far better shape than I am, I would have been on the losing end of that match.

Anyway, it was fun meeting with the both of you. It is nice to finally put the real face and the screen name/avatar together.

Hope to see you both in So. Cal.

Plus, Carl is big enough to beat the ***** out of you. Good thing he's such a nice guy! I'm glad you got to meet them. They're pretty good company for dinner. They can give you a hell of a tour of San Francisco, too.

Tom, never understimate the power of the little guy!

Maybe the next time I am here I'll ask for the SanFran tour.

Pretty scrappy little fella, are you? I have no doubt about that. I certainly wouldn't want to engage you in a war of words!

.
It is great to have the chance to talk in person and meet with others on Mercedesshop!! - especially those who have been so kind on welcoming on line

I enjoyed the camaraderie, food, drinks and wide ranging conversations, Ernesto and Carl are really great people!!!

Efforts made by us all - Carl travelled over 200 miles from home, Ernesto over 500 miles, and myself, 75 miles, to meet in Sacramento, were WELL rewarded in a small get-together.

Great to see you guys!!

It was really fun! Ernesto took us to dinner (Muchas Gracias por todo, amigo!!!) at a top Mexican restaurant and gave us a chance to experience the latest in American auto offerings, with a ride in a 2008 Chevy Impala (rental style!) full of that rare, shiny, plastic wood from those rare trees that for some reason only grow just outside the Chevrolet assembly factories.

Next, I am looking forward to visit Los Angeles to get the car worked on by Enrique at MR MB in Tarzana and hope to meet some MercedesShop folks from that area in conjunction with that visit!

Meet your friends from here if you can - great people!!!

S'funny, I have a different recollection of that. My distinct memory is that the testosterone was just a floating in the air like a thick fog. Unless I miss my guess, both of us surmised that the long rumored boxing match would result in untold mayhem to the persons of both of us and we wisely agreed to work things out in a more gentlemanly manner. I'm pleased to report that much heated but measured debate transpired, with the only clear winner being a greater underestanding of current affairs.

BTW, Ernesto, small matter but you were right about the Bonaduce/Fairplay kerfuffle taking place in LA. Oops, I was thinking LV cause that's where OJ's thing went dow.

Nah, it was only about 100 miles for me, and well worth it.
