Amazing thing is, Europeans use slightly more than half of most resources than we do and their starndard of living is about the same as ours.
China is raising gas prices due to shortages there and you know they are not going to be bashful about competing with us for diminishing supplies. I like driving fast cars too but I'm thinking it's just a matter of time before we have to cut way back on it.

Has a bbl of oil crashed the century mark yet? Any day now!...Katie bar the door. CMAC, does that % factor in Europe's use of nuclear power for electricity? (France generates significant electricity by nuclear power, although I do not know about the rest of Europe) But I agree we waste way too much fossil fuel on generating electricity. Hydroelectric and nuclear power are much more sensible sources for electricity., imho. Sorry for straying off the farm. What were we talking about... |

How dare you drift off topic. I would never do such a thing.
I think nuke electricity is factored in. I've read that Germany uses about 2/3rds the BTUs per person as we do and I'd guess they would be tops in Europe, cept maybe for England and the Scandohoovian countries, owing to their colder winters. Nukes are looking better but to replace our auto-consumed BTUs with nuke lectricity would require a building boom in nuke plants and the waste has yet to be dealt with.
