You may have noticed that March of this year was particularly hot. As a matter of fact, I understand that it was the hottest March since the beginning of the last century. All of the trees were fully leafed out and legions of bugs and snakes were crawling around during a time in Arkansas when, on a normal year, we might see a snowflake or two.

This should come as no surprise to any reasonable person. As you know, Daylight Saving Time started almost a month early this year. You would think that members of Congress would have considered the warming effect that an extra hour of daylight would have on our climate. Or did they ? Perhaps this is another plot by a liberal Congress to make us believe that global warming is a real threat.

Perhaps next time there should be serious studies performed before Congress passes laws with such far-reaching effects.

Known in it's local market as the Dem Gaz. Makes it's own claim as being the most conservative newspaper in the south. In the writing/editing world if you failed - there is always a job at the Dem Gaz

Just a side note about letters-to-the-editor pages. Since it is one persons opinion, not the papers, they like to run them the way they come in. People (in this country) have the right to their opinion, the right to be wrong, the right to be stupid, the right to be satirical and the right to do it publicly. Remember, if you get a really good interesting fight going on the pages, more people might just read them. Sometimes people write letters just to pull your chain.

This one was a clever chain-puller; a lawyer no less!

I've been saying for years we need to take back control of daylight from those bums in Congress. Let the free market decide how much sun we get.

Where is this free market? Every one that I go to wants money.

Anyone know the real reason they did this? Was Al Gore behind this?
