Antique clock collectors?
 

I just started my collection. A hobby I've wanted to get into for years. Made the mistake of looking at them on Ebay:eek: Hundreds of them there! But it's hard to actually catch a bargain, as I see them going for about what they go for in antique stores. Then you still have to pay shipping.
Paid $127 for this one off Ebay, puls shipping. Not a REAL bargain, but not too bad.
Any other horologist here?

Ya, I got a few (hundred) around here someplace, one of my favorites is a Seth Thomas Bee from the late 1800's (1st pic). The next would be the Seth Thomas Austin from the city series of his clocks

I have a really nice Seth Thomas. I was fixing the insides, got it running again and keeping time when it fell off of my workbench and... well, a spring mechanism and soft brass hitting a hard concrete floor doesn't work out too well. It now has a battery inside, no tick-tock, no ding on the half hour, and no chimes to correspond to the hours. :(

Carleton needs to chime in on this one. I have a few pocket watches, do those count?

Yeah,well of course I collect. Chiefly British Lantern and Fusee Bracket clocks.

I have some decorative marble Frenchies and a few Austrian Biedermeiers as well.

Go on ebay. You can find working movements there. I had to replace a model 124 ST movement. I found one for about 80 bucks. You just have to search for a while.

I have been "into" clocks for a while and it was an obsession with me for a couple years (replaced by the 300SD) I have slimmed down my collection a lot over the past few years.

I had a couple ST mantle clocks, two or three 400 day anniversary clocks and others. One of my favorites is an electric Jefferson Magic Clock. It is the round gold one with no visible movement. (not a picture of my clock)

I want to get one of the Seth Thomas office clocks with the calendar movement. I always liked those.

Since this is a visual crowd and the weather has been raining most of the day here, I'll add a couple of more pics for your pleasure.

1st pic is a little more detail of the Seth Thomas Bee I posted a picture of the other day. The second pic is a close up of why it is called the "Bee". The third pic is a closer look at the lower end of the clock. The fourth pic is of a German manufacturer, PHS (Phillip Honse and Sons) which went out of business in the early 1920's. I have quite a few of the PHS clocks also, as they are very well constructed. Yes the PHS does have both of its hands but I was lame in capturing that while taking the picture.

Yes Mistress Pocket Watches also count as long as you have pics to show us.
