How do you trim your beard?
Scissors? Electric razor? Lawn mower?
If electric, what kind? Thanks Al |

Thanks to alopecia I haven't touched a razor (electric or blade), shaving cream or aftershave in over 15 years. While personal hygiene is a breeze now, I do miss growing a beard/goatee. My friends kid me that I blew it all out too fast since I started shaving regularly at 13 and was the hairy kid.

I only shave every three weeks or so. I have to start growing my winter beard in September to get any kind of meaningful cover by November.

I shape my goatee with my regular Gillette hand razor, and I trim it with a Wahle beard trimmer, which I do once a week.

uh oh
I'm sorry Swamp, I was all about showing you around Amish country before.....but you're recent string of luck is just maddening.
Your football team is on pace to score 4,000 touchdowns, you're about to celebrate another world series victory, Garnett signed with the Celtics, you just spent time in San Diego.....I mean, what's next? Sorry, just a typical Eagles/Phils/Sixers fan crying and hijacking another thread. Anyway, Mach 3 razor with generic blades, only once a week.....but I'm sure my boss and wife would prefer more often.

On the shaving side, I missed out on all these new fangled, multi-multi-blade systems. The last time I shaved it was still in the 2 micro-blade edge phase.

She uses a flowbee for trims.

awww man, now I'm really having flashbacks. The Flowbee. Sadly, my old man attempted to cut my hair with that blasted contraption as a child. He was only able to hook me up to the vacuum cleaner once Makes for an interesting conversation starter though.....although images of the dirt devil, a cold garage, a fluorescent yellow set of clippers and my father should probably stay suppressed.
Don't worry Swamp - I wasn't implying braggotry on your part....my reply was a jealous one Mach 3 is a rip off anyway, I probably should switch back to a single blade.

Wahl 110vac hair trimmer with #3 comb attachment. Keeps it just the length I like (fairly short).

Here's my favorite. The Mach 15...smooth shave right to the bone.

Tried many, haven't found any as good as a Wahl Peanut. They have plenty of juice (cordless typically sucks, even with a fresh charge), have a small head that fits all the nooks, and cleanup is a snap. They also hold up very well...mine is 3+ years old, still working like new.
