Apology to some truck driver
 

Dude, I never caught your name, but you tried to be cool to me and it backfired, I just hope you didn't get caught up in the crap that followed in your dispatch office.

(I'm leaving names out, in case his boss is reading =)


a short time ago, you called me, saying that you had a delivery to my jobsite and didnt want to cross the picket line. You offered (in confidence I assume) to make the drop after 3:30 (when the picketers go home). I told you I'd keep this on the down low and gave you the number of my guy onsite who'd be there (I'm in management).
Through events beyond my control, my guy onsite called your office (I dont know how) and somehow (my guy is pretty even-keeled), the words got harsh. Suffice to say, we won't be using your company for deliveries again, nor will your guys be delivering to us anyway. Its the trust that makes me want to apologize.

I don't know if you lost anything by not making this delivery, or got yelled at by your boss, or skated out of the office before anyone knew, but I definitley didnt want to get you in trouble, and I hope that didnt happen today - If it did - I am sorry - You called me trying to be cool and it probably blew up in your face. In my office, what you did is called "Customer service", you boss sees it differently.

I don't care what any of you all think about Unions, or strikes, or picket lines, or management. I don't like it when I tell someone that I'll keep it quiet and shiznit blows up. Sorry dude. Hope things go better next time.

I really shouldnt say, becuase one CEO is getting his panties in a wad about the situation. - dollar signs wayyy above me...Suffice to say its nowhere near Connecticut =)
