An assistant principal at a local elementary school was arrested yesterday for growing and selling marijuana. I din't know him well, but he had been a teacher several years ago at my daughters' elementary school. It was a bit of a shock. He seems like a nice guy and has a reputation as an excellent, caring teacher.

I don't really know why I felt like posting this, except that it made me really sad to see this guy flush his life down the toilet like that.

Dodd is a "dude" in that he was the only Dem to admit to Russert during the debate the other night that he favored decriminalization

That's a definite point in Dodd's favor from me. I assume that Ron Paul would agree with him, being a former (Big "L") Libertarian candidate.

Russert screwed him because he made the point that Dodd was the only one and then wouldn't let Dodd explain fully why. Dodd only got in that the jails were overcrowded with potheads and there were murderers out running the streets, out on bail, ect

Russert is usually pretty good about letting politicians have as much chain as they can carry on their way into the swamp. I'll bet that Dodd wanted to leave the subject, too. He's a pretty effective speaker and would have returned to the subject if he'd wanted to.
