Wanna see some american muscle?
Well guys.
As some of you may know, i've been working on this 67 Barracuda that I got from one of the guys I worked with at RBM years ago. It has come a long way, and I put alot of work into her. It's not your typical, run of the mill Barracuda either. This stripe option was only available on 1970 aar 'cuda's, but I've always been one to do original things nobody else was doing. Now you may understand why I go by cudaspaz. I still have alot to do on her, but I'm getting there little by little. Hope you like. Then.... Now.... This last pic is what I am hoping for at the track. I spent alot of time restoring all the aluminum bezels myself instead of paying high dollars for a pro to do it. They are not perfect, but will have to do for now. Still lot's to do, but it's finally starting to come together. I hope this is a breath of fresh air for some of you snobby Mercede's guys. ha, ha, just kiddin'. |

That is an awesome accomplishment. You have to post videos of that one tearing up the track.

Oh, absolutely, but I have to have Ronnie James Dio screaming in the background for effect.

Sorry, no hemi unless I hit the lottery.
Hemi's are amazing motors, but very , very heavy, and very expensive. I'd love to put one in, but that would require much more modifications and probably about $30-k to do it right. So I'm going for a killer stroker 360 with about 413 cubes, and a 4 spd trans. Lighweight and close to 600 ponies so I can run like a hemi and handle on the street better. It's really the best of both worlds in performance, just not with as much wow factor as the hemi, but don't worry, the engine will compliment the car well with the plan I have in mind. This car will be mostly street driven with an occasional beating at the strip, but really after putting so much time and effort into this thing, I don't feel like breaking stuff right off the bat. This is my first all out project like this, and so far, I'm really happy with the results. After I finish this car, I am going to start doing theese wild resto mods for a hobby on the side. I already have plans for a 69 Dart. I always get a kick out of seeing theese little, feeble looking granny rides turned into theese John wayne, punching his way through a gay parade monsters. |

Watch ebay and racingjunk.com. You'd be surprised what you could build on a low budget if you have the time to piece stuff together.
Watch both sites everyday. You'll find all the hemi stuff you could want, and not that much more than some of the stuff you'd need for that stroker. It'd be cool to find a period correct Donovan block and heads, an old 8 tube hilborn injection set up, etc.

Great job!!...Why not a 440?...much less expensive than building a stroker and more reliable...

My best friend is also into Mopars.
He's got a 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible Indy 500 Pace Car edition that he is restoring. He also has a 1967 Dodge Charger and a 1970 Plymouth Valiant Signet that he uses as daily drivers.

Quote:
I've got buddies who street drive and track thrash 360 strokers regularly with bulletproof results, and I like the lightweight small blocks as I've had big and small block Mopars in the past. Like I said, I want this car to be different than the norm since everyone is building big block super stock Barracuda's, but there are a certain few who run killer small blocks. Plus, you know if I were to build a 440, it would be a stroker anyways. |

Holy crap, 'spaz! That think is downright vicious looking! Beautiful, beautiful work. Love the color, too.
Don't forget some audio files when you get it up and running! I've always been partial to tightly wound small blocks because of the difference factor as well. I have fond memories of playing around with my father's '66 Corvette w/ 375 hp 327 (which he still has). In long stretches the 427 could take it, but in short bursts or roadcourse driving that 327 just wound up so fast.
