I came real close today,,,

On Saturday I looked at an 01 E320 Station Wagon. 84K,, needed brakes and rotors BAD, and a few other minor issues. The good : it had heated, and memory seats, which I would dearly love to have, along with AWD, and the 5 speed tranny. $13K would buy it, which I didn't think was a bad price at all. Problem was I started looking at the TE. I certainly like the body style of the 95 TE much better, but maybe with wheels and tinted windows, I could learn to like the 01. Then my wife reminded me of how I have gotten to "know" the TE. We have spent many hours together through good and bad. I have gotten it to make it almost the perfect car for me, so why change ? Why indeed ? The final outcome was my apologies to the salesman who let me drive the 01, but I just can't turn loose of the TE just yet. I know a lot of you have upgraded from the 124 and have been happy, but the personal attachment is hard to overcome right now. I LOVE my wagon.

Pete,

Buy it. Price IS right, AWD, and Winter coming on in Western PA.? Buy it now! Sell the older stuff you own....... Confucious/Skid Row Joe say......newer==better! Too bad they didn't make diesel wagons in that E-series.......

Yeah I understand. I'm having the same trouble with the SDL, now today I want to keep it. Its just such a damn fine car and I know it like the back of my hand.

OTOH if I keep the SDL I can invest most of the difference that I was going to spend upgrading. I'll probably be better off investing now, so when I'm older I can buy new MB's.

I moved out of my 1995 E300D for this 1998 E320 wagon and I am SOLD. My 1998 runs rings around my 1995 in every way.

Yeah, I know how you feel Pete. I had a hard time letting go of my 300E. I owned it eight years and like you said, went through a lot in that car.

My broker said that when they put her in the ground they are going to have to dig a big hole, because she is taking her SDL with her.
