I have a rust free 914 GT/V8 car that's an ongoing project. Too much invested at this time to let it go.
Also have a 2 liter 914 that is waiting a floorpan install. That's Tabby's car as the 911 cabrio is for sale.
It started out as an extra parts car when I bought the GT project. Then she went and did the research and got a title to it. To be honest, it would have made a better AX car. I'm stretched thin as it is.
Fortunately, she don't ***** when another MB follows me home.

I had a ideas of installing a 617 in her 914 but, have been watching for a TDI engine should I decide to build a diesel 914.

Those cars are out there. Watch for rust in the longitudinals and whats called the 'hell hole' which is beneath the battery tray. Any holes rusted in the shelf below the battery almost certianly means the longs have internal rust.
My good friend Richard Fisher welds a very nice chassis stiffening kit which really keeps things aligned for AX. Its a good idea to box in the roof opening with a roll cage also.
Done right there's not many cars on the track that can keep up with the "teener".

I swappped Richard a dismantled 914 for a paint job back in '87. He's been a 914 chassis guru ever since. Richards car is like a 500HP go kart.

His current 914 is unbelievable.

Wow! That is a nice looking job. I cannot imagine myself ever going the chebby engine route but he did a very nice job including all the chassis reinforcing, etc.

Thanks for sharing that with us.
