So? What's your point? Do you claim that we do a good job for our veterans? I'd love to see the data to support that one.

Well Bush has told us many times that we know better what to do with our funds than the govt. does, so I'm going to invest my spare $36 million in a residential treatment and job training center.

How about you?

But your question is better directed to those responsible. The President is a good place to start.
Get the govt involved and you will long for the homeless days.

I can't do much in my capacity but the wife and I agreed that if an honorably discharged vet did need medical attention, my wife would provide what she can, gratis. Since I did play a role in her getting to that position to assist, I suppose I can say I have done my part. Because of HIPPA, details are sketchy but I think she did treat a vet a month ago.

So how would YOU answer your own question?

That's a strange comment, considering the military is part of the government and you're not a vet.
I've been receiving benefits from the VA for years and it's been excellent. If my VA clinic and hospital were closer, I'd go there for all my medical needs.
I posted the article to veterans group and the consensus was that many homeless claim to be vets but are not. The question was asked "How many of the homeless were asked to produce a DD214?" The DD214 is the official record of service.

Thanks for your concern!!! When VETs get home they are usually forgotton. For ever sodier KIA there is 10 or more wounded and possibly disabled for life.
The smallest action is greater than the grandest thought.

Put it another way. I don't trust government involvement. It has always come with a hefty price tag. I DON'T want the govt involved in any more of my life than it currently is.

Sad part is that the public takes their frustrations out on the VET who was just doing duty, the real culprit is the politician and not one gets strung up for their deeds.

I blame the people who put that politician in office.

As long as there are street corners for the bums beg on, homeless Vets won't need to work, their money is already tax-free to buy illegal drugs, booze and cigarettes.

The Vet-scam bums abound around here, every major intersection supports them. Some pull down $30K to $40K a year from news reports locally. That's an easy $50K to $60K equivelancy......with no income tax.

Probably a good career move, for some.. The news has exposed their illicite money and drug scams here......

There's a reason most are not interested in working at your business......

Good thing we have you here. Otherwise we'd be so lost. You have a knack of showing great wisdom where others are fools. We should all worship you. Hey, I know, maybe we could have you be like the Grand Nagus in Star Trek DS9. He sits on a throne and gives financial advice and gets a fee.

Care to show us documentation that proves that?
