Interview features two of Phelps children, acorns that fell very close to the oak tree. Most of the 50 or so members of Phelps' "church" are family.

Might be that actually. They interviewed a couple of young boys, 8 and 10 IIRC, both speaking of the evil of "fags." Stossel asked them "what's a fag?"
One of them hemmed and hawed saying that it was difficult to say exactly. The other one said it was anyone who disobeyed God's law, basically like a Jew.

It is an amazing phenomenon and widespread as well, that is, the desire to proclaim one's own clan, sect, you name it, as the right and proper one along with exhorting the other unawakened souls to heed their message.
They mentioned "proud sinning" a few times, oblivious to the pride they exhibit in their unshakable belief that they have God's correct message firmly in hand.
