Girls Middle names

How important are middle names these days?

And, what are some good ones for a girl with the first name Sarah?

Yes, I'm suffering from "couvade syndrome".

My first.
I hope I'm not too old.

My daughter's middle name is Persephone. Doesn't go well with Sarah.
I wondered about the age issue when she was born. Still do 13 yrs later.

The first car I owned which I drove on the road was a 62 Buick if that helps.

Neighbor has a daughter named Porsche. Don't know if her middle name is Mercedes.

If you bought that car new, it's going to be close.

If she had a last name of Beemer or Bimmer it would be funny.

Saw Yakov Smirnoff who mentioned that his wife suggested naming their daughter Brandy. He asked if they would send Brandy Smirnoff to the Betty Ford Day care center.

I think most names will actually work. it just depends on how it is pronounced. Both Sarah Ann and Sarah Marie work, but in different ways. Sarah Ann is run together while Sarah Marie has to be two distinct words with equal weight. Of course there is always Sarah Jo. My daughter is Katrina Michelle.

We've always put a fair amount of thought into our kids' middle names, usually as a tribute to a family member and the English/Scottish/Irish version. When my youngest was born and we found out he was a he, we really wanted to honor my then recently deceased MIL somehow who was 100% Sicilian and really couldn't come up with a male name that was remotely close so we settled on Gregory as a middle name. Saint Gregory was is the Patron Saint of Teachers and Educators and since she was one it was a good fit. First name as a tribute to the best QB in the NFL, Braeden with the expected nickname.

My sister is Sarah Elizabeth which kind of rolls off the tongue. Of course saying it for almost 30 years might have something to do with it.

4 bouts of 'couvade syndrome' has left me a bit worse for wear. Good luck!

Sarah Anne

Try finding some name that, when combined with her first name and last name will NOT spell something weird, like

Rose anne Tompson = RAT

or

Heidi Orthense Ridley = HOR

or

...well, you get the picture.

And remember, age is only a number, so don't worry. But if I had had my kids later in my in life I am not sure I'd have had the energy to keep up!

I've always thought that middle names are a great way to honour a parent or grandparent. What about your mother/grandmother or your wife's mother/grandmother's name? Do any of them work?
