The Official Mercedesshop.com Grill Badge discussion

I think this will be the thread that gets it done... that is.. a Mercedesshop.com grill badge for all members..

Already having done one run for schumans Oil Burner Kartel... now it is time for Mshop to get in on the deal....

I think there is not some.. but the potential for it to happen and I will do all the middle man work...

If you guys are interested lets post it here so I can totally go through with it and get us some badges

Yup.

At one point they had stickers, or at least were in the process of getting one made. Not sure what happened. This was years ago, so maybe some of the other oldsters remember. Or do a search.

Cost per unit?
Do you have a picture of one?

Did we ever decide on what to put on a badge? (I remember the thread, but not the concensus, if there was one)

PS: I have a sticker

Whunter has stickers.. IIRC someone brought some to the last Central FL GTG.. I lost mine .. but I remember them.. they are still available..

qulaity lapel pins charged me 24.50 for each badge and I had ordered 38... the more ordered the less they cost

I added 5$ on to cover shipping and handling via USPS.. the option for UPS is probably going to be given for this run if it is allowed to go..

the artwork is all on you guys.. I was digging around in the old threads and found some stuff that might work..

How I did it on schumans is .. let people put their names on a list.. have them email me their shipping info.. then send payment to me via mail or paypal(cost a little extra due to paypal fees)... then.. waited for all the monies to be in... sent it out to the company to make the badges.. waited 3 weeks for them to be made and shipped to me. then packaged and shipped them out via usps the next day

it worked well.. I made 3$ plus a free badge out of it...

fz500sel brought them to the GTG.

What is the diameter, and how is the surface/image done? Engraved, printed, enameled, etc. ? Shades of grey, or multicolor, or 2-3 colors?

The money exchange procedure sounds fair.

yea Frank did...

they seem to be cast.. and are pretty heavy duty... I'd say it weighs 1/4 lbs ish

the paint is an enamel.. my badges are just black and then the chrome..

but they use the Pantone colours with up to 4 per badge.. extra colours I think might cost more..

The diameter max is 3" but if we want to do a wrench I do not know how it will be done

Hmm
I'd have to buy 6, or maybe more. (I've got a SMART reserved, but I'm thinking C65) Quantity discount?

the 3" oval or circle is the most common.. I think we might be able to get a wrench or something... but dont think it will look or fit right on any grill

even an octagon would be sufficient..

a discount is possible..

If the badge reflects our interests in OD it should be an image of a gay Republican cannibal having sex in a toilet stall while reading the Bible to his libertarian lawyer partner.

Classic!

Don put me down for two! I already have a few stickers but a badge would be nice!

For the design we should just do the logo. Does it have to be round?

If it has to be round we should do the globe, with MercedesShop.com written across the center on the wrench.

Soooo, for the SL, SLC and SEC owners, how on earth would the grille badge be mounted on the car? Or is there some holder on the bumper for them?

These are not especially grille badge friendly automobiles..

Great idea though if you ask me.
