Perhaps. I don't know who Cathy B. is, but Jacqueline Bisset (sooo gorgeous back then) was the 356-driving SO of McQueen's character...

Sorry Walgytom, gotta be picky sometimes...

I think someone is missing the point about why this is being marketed as a Bullitt edition.

Yeah, Jackie Bissett.

I may have had a senior moment about her name but I knew it was a black speedster instantly.

I rented it a few months back and enjoyed it tremendously. I still flinch a little each time he steals a news paper though. I never could figure out why they had him do that, him being the straight arrow and all.

My wife really wants a "Warriors in Pink" (Breast Cancer Awareness) edition Mustang convertible. Unfortunately they only offer it with the V6 otherwise I'd probably oblige her desire.

If I was going to spend 32 grand I would restore an original.

Nah, not missing the point. Just pointing out more differences. If they wanted to make the Bullitt more special, they wouldn't have put the rims on tons of Mustangs, especially the new ones. For me, seeing as how the last one was marked up and hyped as something special, I can't see it. I still like the top down.

But maybe with something a little more potent than a 390. Fords FE block wasn't the greatest hodrod engine

It was a lot happier in a Country Squire.

You'd spend a lot more than $32k and it wouldn't perform nearly as well as a modern version. That said I'd love a vintage fastback Stang.

That scene was the product of an unintended loss of control by McQueen. He understeered badly while trying to make a right turn at an intersection. It was almost left on the cutting room floor, but just looked and sounded too cool to leave out of the film. At that same intersection, the Charger had done a little better and made the turn, but subsequently ate a nearby '56 Ford parked at the curb as well as a camera.
