Yeah my dad had a yamaha RD400 daytona special, he said those could hang with 600-1000cc's back those days. He also said it was loud as hell...

Yep and the RZ500 murdered the poor 4 stroke 750 and 1000cc porkers of those days, 2 stroke rules wish they would bring them back in more friendly sanitized form.

Don't sell that RD350, you are going to regret it.

I have another identical one. This one I rehabilitated. A bunch of new stuff I threw at her because she sat for a while. 5k original miles.

The other is a identical. I have an old school full fairing and cafe seat. I am going to build that one to scream. I am going to put a set of reeds in there and port the cylinders.

The one in the picture is probably going to go on Ebay in the spring. I have a set of DG pipes to go with it.

I have kept mine stock, its in original factory color of blue, only thing I have put is stainless steel reeds and Koni rear shock and Chinoy electronic ignition.

Throw some pics up, I'd like to see her.

That rat bike in the pics is a '70 R5. It looks like dirt but it has electronic ignition, Dyna coils, K & N filter and DG pipes. It also has a really cool set of bars that are old school and fully adjustable. The parts are worth more than the bike.

Is that a USA spec bike? I noticed the front disc brake. It is in nice shape.

Thanks, if you look at the picture carefully you will notice the name Rajdoot, it was the Yamaha RD 350B sold in India by Escorts India limited. The disc brake was standard in it, I added the electronic ignition from Chinoy few years back.

Defiantly not! I learned my lesson the hard way, young and stupid plus the first Hayabusa was given too me for free from my friend who was too scared to ride it. It was fun until I got into an accident, not a pleasant 3 months and I have scars that remind me of it! Now I'm on my second Hayabusa but much more responsible

I would start with something like this:

Honda 750

Plenty of power and you won't have alot of money in it. Unless you are just going to be riding around town then I would not go with the Ninja 250 although my 14 yr old is asking that I purchase him one for his 16 birthday. Anyway, the local Kaw shop has two 250cc 2007 models for sale for $2995 to clear them out. Not a bad price for a brand new m/c.

I ride a Harley Road King and have been riding since I was 13 (37 years) and my recommendation is to always ride like you are invisible and don't go faster than you can ride on the road conditions. In other words make sure you can see what is in the road ahead. It is REAL easy to go faster than you can see ahead of you but you probably already know that seeing as how you have already dropped the zuki.

75 RD250 was my 1st bike then.
79 SR500 Yamaha street thumper
and a Ducati 450 Desmo project that
I never got around to. The two strokes
are faster but I like the sound of a four
stroke single.

I like these suggestions.
Kawasaki KLR 650
Royal Enfield Bullet
