Sunday Night Football
OK - so, I'll ask......were you there Swamp?
Actually, if I am to be honest with myself......I'm not too upset (although quite tired). No such thing as moral victories though. The Beagles had a chance to hang in the wildcard race too with Eli pissing another game away. Oh well.

The way Feeley played all game, sans the first pic for a TD, I thought he did a bang-up job of exploiting the secondary in the middle of the field. Why he went away from that, at Samuel no less, is beyond me. I was shocked at how easily he shredded the D. I wasn't surprised that the Iggles D was able to slow down the offense though. I think Vegas did the Pats a huge disservice by making them a 24 pt. favorite. They go out of their way not to give the opponent ANYTHING to fixate on for the upcoming game but the oddsmakers did it for them. Philly had a huge chip on their shoulder and it showed. Might be a little QB controversy, too! Being an eternal pessimist, I always expect the worst for my sports teams so I'm never surprised when the games end up close. It was a little too close for comfort! It would have made for a long drive home had it gone the other way.

QB controversy
Indeed.....it's been brewing for some time anyway...but this game won't help. Local talk radio will make a huge debate out of this. I kept saying to myself throughout the game......man, they're moving the ball really well, I wonder if McNabb would be doing this?
I've always been a supporter of him.....but I think it's time for a change, despite his 400 year contract extension. AJ can hold things down for the new kid, I suppose. It was a good game to watch though and I rarely can say that on the losing end of things. Kinda nice to wrap up the division in week 12, isn't it?

Belichick really couldn't care less about regular season records, despite the former Dolphins running their mouths, so it'll be good to have the luxury of letting some of the guys nursing injuries get some rest. He'll never take the foot off the accelerator completely, lest they sputter into the post-season out of synch.

Couple of thoughts:
The Pats plan was neutralize Westbrook. See if the other weapons could beat them. They did and they couldn't. The Eagles O line played way better than any game this year. Feeley GOT RID of the ball much quicker than McNab. Was he sacked at all?I'm surprised the Pats couldn't get to Feeley The Pat's inner pass defense needs real work. Those TD's on slants looked way to easy. Pretty good chess match. The play call for the second interception was the game. A couple of more over the middle and a couple of runs, they could have used more clock, get it below 2 minutes, kick at least a FG and tie the game and maybe win on a coin toss in OT. Clock management is a chronic weakness with the staff & McNabb. Woulda, coulda, shoulda... "Sports is a coffee break"..... Al Maguire. Back to work. . |

That's the closest anyone will come to the Pats this year. They might score 100pts v the Ravens next week.
