Maserati Quattroporte

I remember reading the Road & Track test on that car back in 1980 and almost drooling over the pictures of the leather and wood interior.

Gorgeous car.

Probably costs as much to run as a 6.3.

I was just thinking that even with a more affordable engine dropped in, oh man, getting parts for that could eat you alive.

Still, it'd be fun.

The ad expired, but looks to be an old Q-porte?

No winter beater for this guy.

The wagon is buried under a foot of snow with a dead battery, so will wait until it's around freezing to dig it out and replace the battery.

Another route would be to buy some snow tires for the S. I got stuck yesterday down the block, took 1/2 hr to get 'er out. Screw that. Maybe buy some today if the they aren't swamped.

I imagine the V12 keeps the traction control pretty busy in the snow!

I assume that the wagon has better ground clearance than the S. Were you ever able to confirm that the wagon has a limited-slip diff? I bet the diesel discussion boys could tell you what the option code is and where to locate it.

The S has better clearance and can raise it up with a touch of a button. Gettin' snow tires tomorrow AM.

The wagon has a future in the collectible realm, so it's better to keep her out of the salt.

Yeah, there's a decent 240D FS around me too.

The wagon is parked along the garage, so a 4th car would have to sit on the street. A real PIA with snow emergencies and such. This is turning out to be a snowy winter (back to normal), so best lie low.

Yep, too much torque. Some good snows will make driving much easier in this crap.

Ah, okay. I thought that feature was only found on the 4Matic.
