Saw an ultimate ride for you yankees today......

A woman at my daughter's school was driving a sand-colored E500 4-Matic wagon this morning (I have also seen her driving a green Defender 90 and a yellow Lotus Esprit). When I first saw it I thought "what a waste" and now several hours later I am thinking "man, that is cool...."

Are they very common up north? First time I have ever seen one, although the R350 CDI 4 matics are everywhere down heeya.

I can't say that I've seen one. That'd be a helluva ride. But man I'd love a Defender, gas or diesel! I could have fun with one of those.

What's a defender? Oh, you're talking about those things that go over the wheels.

I've never seen a V8 wagon in Canada. We only get the V6 model, and only as a 4Matic.

My wife is off the G-Wagon kick now because of well, the obsession that "G"s have with them around here, so my next ploy is a Defender--haven't run into a diesel one yet.

I know they made them but they might not have been a U.S. offering. Unfortunately for me they hold their value very well!

Being a wagon lover, I could be very easily talked into a 500 wagon. They pop up on E-bay on occasion.

I'd approach this woman and ask her if it was for sale for you, but she is kind of the type of woman that my wife doesn't like me talking to about......well......anything

I see a lot of Merc wagons around, many 4-matics. Notsomuch the Lotus or Land Rover Defender (yikes, talk about a maintenance nightmare).

This should fit the bill

My boss had an E55 Wagon.

He would go to the dragstrip with the baby seats, and teach ricers lessons...

Around here E350/500 4Matic wagons are very commen, very popular. Seems like most newer MB's are 4Matic regardless of the model. I know the dealer pushed my uncle into getting it when he got his E350 because thats what they had on the lot and come trade in time thats what the dealers want.

I have only seen a couple E55 wagon's, they are rare!
