Favorite Christmas lighting and music

This is getting to be like the Red Rider BB gun. I have to admire it every year.

Bah Humbug to you Bot

I made the mistake of showing your post to my girlfriend. Now I have to spring for tickets to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra here on December 23.

I was trying to resist, but like the Ghost of Christmas Present, you are forcing the spirit of Christmas upon me.

Unlike Scrooge, I will not sent you a goose. I might goose my girlfriend in your honor, though.

The worst part of your post is the time it will cost and the arguments it will cause. My GF did light shows for rock groups and now teaches techical theater. She will duplicate the effect using computer programmed lights timed to the music.

I said that the simple way is to link specific lights to specific notes via a microphone. Her way, you are stuck with limited songs. My way, any music can be used. Her argument is that lights will flash when the dog barks and it will attract idiots with bass cannons in their trunk who want to see what they can do.

Now instead of doing something useful in our spare time for the next two weeks, we will argue about Christmas lights since I will be sick of the limited number of songs that she will have time to synchronize.

In addition Bot

I forgot to quote Tiny Tim. "God bless us every one."

Especially you, Bot, your posts are always thought provoking and informative.

I keep wanting to steal a PLC from work =) and do that at my house, but I can't imagine how you'd do it easily....unless you just worked off of a timer and started that timer with the music.... I'm thinking about it though...
