Anybody have a MB visa?

How do you like it, and how many reward points equal $1 when redeming them to buy parts?

I looked into it before but it doesn't get you all that much, I'd say you'll save a lot more/get a lot more benefit from a fuel rewards credit card. I save about $20-25 a month with mine!

I have an MB visa (the only thing cool was the MB Cooler (like a coleman SS cooler with MB logo)). You can also use your points to buy MB parts from the dealer, but I think they want to charge you LIST. I already have a wholesale account so the only thing worth while was the Coleman cooler. They mark it up $100 because you can buy it at cabela's for $110. So Id recommend another type of card: they change their terms a lot.

I am switching over completely to my REI visa (I can always find stuff at REI).

American Express probably has the best rewards program, well duh, they charge merchants like 5% of a transaction.

You have to spend about 20k to get this.

I bought this one, and its awesome. At wholesale, haha.

It'd certainly be cheaper to just buy a cooler!

I'd get 2,000 points on my credit card if I bought the cooler, which equates to about a gallon of fuel when redeemed.... I get 4x as many points for fuel purchases though. So $200 spent at gas station = 8000+ points, and about 4 gallons of free diesel! It really does add up annually. I get about 55-60 gallons free each year just from using that card exclusively. Thats a lot! Especially considering I don't drive all that much either....only about 15-17k a year tops. For those that drive 40k a year the savings would be enormous!

I got mine two weeks ago.

What is really nice (or bad, depending on how you look at it) is the ridiculously high charge limit they gave me ($10,000) even with a far from perfect credit score.

With that limit you can go check out/buy one of their starmark certified used cars and just buy it right on your card!

Very scary, I gave up credit cards a long time ago. A good way to get in trouble.

I had the offering for the MB Visa but looking at the fine print (Bank of America) no thanks. I'll just stick with AX.

I'd want one with a logo, but if I remember correctly they charge an annual fee and I ain't paying one.

I have a Visa through Sikorsky with a really low interest rate, I don't need another. I also have a Mastercard through Chase which has been excellent. I get like $10-$20 back a month using that one.

Amex are the best cards, I want to get one next. An Amex black card would be the ultamite. Better than any MB card for sure.

In theory you can buy an SLR with that...

I have a AMEX Platinum Card.

Hattie, black cards are cool. Someone very close to me has one. When he uses it, he gets some of the oddest looks.

Yes but is it practical to carry around $10k to buy a watch? You will get mugged!

Yeah those cards are so cool, they are made of metal.

Besides with Amex you pay the bill every month.

Actually, I carry around debit cards so I only get to spend what I already have in the bank.

Exactly, I've never paid a cent of interest on any card ever, and the only time I ever paid a fee was a $2 ATM cash withdrawl when I was in some random place that only took cash and they had a non-my-bank atm....so I had no choice. That $2 pales in comparison to the hundreds upon hundreds I have saved by using the card though.
