Price of a cup of coffee
Am I a Piker? A cup of coffee costs $1.89 at Perkins. Who thinks that's a little much?
OTOH, I shell out $4 for a latte at least twice a week. I am my own contradiction.

You could roast your own for much cheaper.
Much much better too....only you'll become an elitist snob and refuse to drink the Perkins coffee after that. But yes, you are your own contradiction. Aren't we all?

$4.39 for a 12 pack of Coke or Pepsi (corn syrup & water) is ridiculous too.
(however, a couple of times a week, I buy a 1/2 ltr bottle for $1.25) (my contradiction contribution) So...from now on, no more singles...only cans from 12 packs, and only when they are reasonably priced (less than $2.75/12pack) Hmmm....the first "New Year's Resolution"?

I'm glad that I like plain, old, black coffee, none of those fru fru coffee beverages. Nearly $2.00 for a stinkin' cup of coffee is ridiculous.

I like Starbuck's coffee so I am willing to shell out $1.56-$2 for a cup of it. I have also found certain Gas Station coffee's that taste decent enough, and some I can't stand...

At Perkins, you are paying for the ambiance, etc, etc. Also, isn't it bottomless?

In the touching section, yes. Non-touching, maybe not. But if they are really ugly, there was a saying "Cover face, fire base"

I'm all for a good Latte but $4-6.00 for a cup of coffee every day is a little off the deep end IMO. I buy decent coffee, use a coffee maker and carry a big ass mug.

Not a problem for me at all. I buy a double shot of espresso for $2 or so. Dump 6 packs of sugar in it, stir. Take a big mug, fill it 3/4 full of half and half. Add espresso with sugar. There you have it. Aklim's Cardiac Arrest Special.

That's about the going rate for a 16 oz. around here from a filling station. The Mobil here carries Green Mountain Roasters stuff which I think is pretty good, will do in a pinch, and there's none of the waiting. A 24oz. cup is $2.33ish with tax.

I like QT (Quiktrip) coffee. Four or five caffeinated flavors/strengths, eight-flavor creamer dispenser, $1.39 for a 24 ouncer... but usually I make my own at work using Starbucks ground coffee...
