Speaking of football,,,
Big Ben of the Steelers took his weekly beating again last night. The ladies in his front line provide about as much protection as a bunch of department store manequins. That poor guy gives 150% EVERY WEEK AND STILL GETS THE CRAP BEAT OUT OF HIM. I am, of course, a Steeler fan , but would not blame him in the least if he were to get the hell out of here if they don't do something with that front line.

No kidding. I even felt sorry for him, and I'm not a Steelers fan. They certainly aren't going far in the playoffs with an offensive line like that. Poor Ben was getting hit with only a 4 man rush.

I'll tell you Pete, we seemed to be running right along this season, near the front of the pack even, then got wobbly legs and did a 'face plant' a little more than a month ago, and never quite recovered.

I am not a fan of any specific team anymore, rather I root for players I like and respect. Ben is one. But the hands-down, three-ball award goes to Brett Favre. Ben might be a good choice to pick up the torch from Brett. He has a similar, blue-collar work ethic and could definitely use some protection.

Pittsburgh lost Russ Grimm, probably the most underrated coach in football. And their best OLineman doesn't want to be there (and won't be next year). I'm not surprised Big Ben is getting knocked around.

I was talking with a guy at work about the gmae. He was laughing about the guys on WDVE gushing about our win. What a joke. I thought we looked like crap. Yes, the offense put points on the board but the defense allowed alot. Our biggest weaknesses?....the ****ty front line (Alan Faneca included for his attitude) and the defense (mostly the secondary).
We won't stand a chance in the playoffs.

Pete: on the Steelers, I feel your pain. Ben is a way likeable player. And to see him take possibly career shortening hits over and over is not good. It's weird here in the Bay, we've got two teams, the Raiders and the Niners (LA doesn't even have one ) and they're both hurting. Good God, the drama around the Niners is disheartening.

The Pats really need a good backup QB. I've been shocked at how poor the protection for Big Ben has been this season. The guy really has been a sitting duck buck there, no disrespect intended, but it kind of reminds me of the Bledsoe days. Although Ben is much more mobile than Drew ever was.
