Where To Donate Used Toys?

We really do have enough toys to open a toy store. The loot from the past two days really is pushing the limits of our little bungalow. We'd like to donate them to someone but haven't had any luck finding someone who will take used toys (lead and recall issues I would imagine), most of which really do look like new. The CT Children's Hospital used to, and quite frankly could use some more (that's another issue, but we did do our little part recently).

I'm not looking for money for them or even a tax writeoff, I just want them to go to someone or some organization so that kids could enjoy them as much as my kids have. Any suggestions?

If I can't donate them we'll just list them all on Freecycle, which isn't a bad alternative. It'll just end up being more piece by piece rather than a bulk unloading. There's got to be somebody who can use them.

Craigslist or a yard sale? Nevermind...just saw your location...

You could list them as a bulk ebay auction and donate the proceeds to a charity? It does sound labor intensive though.

That's the problem, it'd be nice to just make a call and have somebody come get them (or drop them off somewhere). Freecycle has worked well for us so far so I might go that route.

I don't know why I didn't think of those, certainly has potential. Thus the reason for the question!

I'll definitely give them a holler, too. It just dawned on me that there's a Goodwill Store the next town over. I don't know if they have toys or not, but they might be able to lead me in the right direction.
