Polk County is Fukked up!

I drive through Eagle Lake (all 3 traffic lights) on my way to work everyday. That town is so dirt poor that they just disbanded their police department and reverted to the PCSO to patrol the area. Needless to say the old "Eagle Lake is a speed trap, do the speed limit (45)" rule doesn't apply anymore. It's as if the speed limit jumped to 60.

BTW-my house is for sale...I gotta get outta Poke Countay~

Garrison Keilor, from Minnesota, of Prairie Home Companion fame, has a theory that low lifes go where the weather is easiest to survive in w/o much work -- which is NOT to say that all people in warm climes are low lifes, just that you may be more burdened with them.

In my region, the Bay Area, homeless people seem to flock here due to the relatively mild weather and general affluence.
