That is the guy who robbed something and bailed out of a plane with a back pack full of money and was never heard from again.....right?
I keep thinking they will find him or his body someplace. That is a recurring fantasy for many folks....somehow pull off a record heist and get away without hurting anybody. Tom W

I remember the references to D.B. in that goofy movie "Without a Paddle". I had no idea he was a real-life figure...

I recognized the name, but had forgotten who it was. That was quite a story.

Cooper
Quick true story about DB Cooper..Back in the early 90's Jerry Glanville was head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and he was known for leaving tickets for dead people. For example, he would leave a ticket for Elvis at the Will Call window. One weekend he left a ticket for DB Cooper..The fed's got word of it and had to show up to see if Cooper would actually go to the Will Call window to collect his ticket...just thought you would like to know where your taxes are going.

They also used the name for one of the characters on Season 1 of "Prison Break." The character died but before he did he told one of the other guys where the money was buried.

It makes for a good story, but he fell to his death and was eaten by animals. The money is probably rotted sitting under 6in of leaves. Or someone found it STFU and spent it.

Probably he died in the plane jump.
I remember reading about that one, at the time. As I recall that was in 1971, in a forest outside of Washington, he was dressed in a business suit, and parachuted out, with little chance of survival, at that height, and probably died.
A few years later someone who was fishing, found a bundle of the currency, that was partially decomposed, not too far from where he jumped out of the plane, and turned it in.

When I lived in Oregon there was quite a bit of local lore on Cooper. Most agreed he survived and still lives outside of John Day, Oregon. No one would share any pertinent details. Of course quite a few people have seen Big Foot in Meecham, Oregon as well.
The Cooper story always caught my interest as the people who told it had a bit more enthusiasm than you usual folklore tale.
