I am surprised the Gurana drink bombed, it should have been a good natural alternative to Red Bull and far safer than Jolt cola.

Ahhhh...Jolt Cola. It got me through many an exam and related cramming beforehand. It's actually pretty scary how hopped up I could get on that stuff. I drink 2 or 4 22 oz. mugs of coffee a day and I never feel the effects. That's a pretty good indicator of the sugar and caffeine levels.

I've yet to try any of the Red Bull/Rock Star/Full Throttle stuff. One, I'm afraid I'd get addicted and two, I'm afraid of what they might taste like.

Mixing Dr. Pepper Berries and Cream and Mr. Pibb makes for an awesome flavored soda. The down-side is (as far as I know) they don't distribute in the northeast.

I just looked at that link. I must say I don't miss any of those. Never even heard of a few of them.

Anybody remember clear coke?? Yuck! Well, it may taste the same but Coke without caramel color is like brown water to me.

Yeah, appearance does play a part in our perception of how things taste, I think. I can't drink coffee from a clear glass cup. It just looks wrong.

I quit buying sodas. My kids drank them so fast that I never got any of them and they were drinking too many. Now I just drink scotch. The kids don't mess with that . . . .

Good for you. We try to avoid them as well.

You may want to pack a RedBull along with you on your first solo night cross country though.

All the pep of coff-ay, but without the need to pee.
