Good luck with that. Just be aware that Dalmations are VERY rambunctious. They need lots of exercise and room to run around.

I wanted a Weimeraner for a long time, but finally realized I didn't have the time and energy to devote to keeping him entertained and exercised properly.

I am aware of the traits of dalmations. why a dalmation you ask? I have always loved them. i always wanted one. If you remember i posted a pic of Jax my dalmation on the happy spot thread. i lost him about 7-8 months ago to cancer. I have been wanting to get another one since about a month after he died. They are hard to come by in arizona. im going to look at some that are liver colored and the standard black color too.

No, I had forgotten. Well, I hope this works out for you. I have a new-found appreciation for what great friends pets can be.

Dalmations are great, but not for everybody. I rescued a young adult Dal in, oh, about 1993. We had Mr. Freckles for 10 years. He was all Dal. He would do things that could simultaneously impress you with his intelligence and physical strength, make you cry because of what he destroyed, and make you laugh because of the way he did it. He was a great marathon training partner too - loved those early morning 10 miles runs.

Best of luck with your new pup.

Be a little careful. You know they are hunting dogs and no one's idea of a mellow pet.

A co worker got one, and it turned out it was blind and the people from who she got it "forgot" to tell here that, and so she had it put down.

Be sure everything is cool with that before you commit, and good luck.

Happy "hunting".

How exciting! I hope you checked out your breeder closely. I had my heart broken losing my first pug last year because of breeding issues and I wasn't educated. Post pictures!!

uhh??? i think you have something twisted. They are not hunting dogs. They did one act as a guard dog along side horse drawn carriges. I do agree, They are not really mellow.

The breeder i am going through is very reputable and has all the health certifications done on them. Plus they come with a health guarentee. If she does end up with a deaf or blind one in the litter she has it put down.
