Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist had some photos taken of her on one of the town's fire engines before she was mayor. She says it was originally supposed to promote fitness. She can promote fitness with me and I will offer no complaint, I promise.

Really? I seem to recall reading that some states shipped major tonnage of garbage to a small town in Oregon.

That would be the town. It comes in by truck and rail, definately the largest dump I ever seen. Best I could figure is they were going to fill this canyon up with garbage.

I can't help but chuckle and alternately shake my head when I read about archeologists carefully picking through ancient trash piles, looking for clues about the civilization.

Who knows what the future holds but can you imagine a scenario on earth, circa 5027, global population a few million, and some budding young explorer digs into the remnants of one of our modern day landfills?

I wish the poor fellow luck.
