Mike Huckabee’s solution to the nation’s economy troubles?

Pray.

It’s a good thing it’s looking less and less likely that Mike Huckabee will get the Republican nomination because he keeps getting more and more delusional. Now he’s asking Jesus to stimulate the economy:

Quote:
Mr. Huckabee has invoked Jesus’ name at many points in the primary season, but his extraordinary request marks the first time a presidential candidate has directly asked a deity to provide the nation with an economic stimulus package.

In a press conference in Mobile, Alabama today, Mr. Huckabee said that he had asked Jesus to stimulate the U.S. economy with “a fresh infusion of loaves and fishes.”

The former Arkansas governor was not specific about the exact dollar amount of the loaves and fishes that he had asked Jesus to inject into the U.S. economy, but advisors later said that it was somewhere in the ballpark of $70 billion.

Mr. Huckabee said that he had also asked Jesus to solve the nation’s mortgage crisis by “casting out the money lenders.”
Though I suppose if all he did was pray it would be at least somewhat better than what the current President has tried to do. The thing that cracks me up is that Huckabee gets all huffy anytime a reporter questions him on his religious beliefs claiming those are private matters that won’t affect his ability to be President. Then he goes and does something goofy like this which points all the attention on his religious beliefs.

He needs to concentrate on his praying and playing, IMHO.

I don't have much confidence in his economic policy if he's praying alone. However, if it were a Huckabee/Robertson ticket I think the doubled power of prayer might get my buy in. (You know, the old 'Where two or more are gathered together in My name' thing)

Yeah, they could turn the Oval Office into a TV set and have a religious variety show where they raise money to run the country. They could call it "The Three Trillion Club" or something.

Pat Robertson could certainly smooth over our foreign relations with his rhetoric.

I googled most of the quotes cited in the Huffingandpuff and all of the hits were to blogs; zero went to any credible news organization.

disclaimer: I am not a Huck supporter or think that praying for the economy will do any good; I just like to check facts.

I think his prayers are a little missdirected. Right now he should be praying for the nomination.

There are enough reasons not to like Huckabee without having to contrive quotes, or play games with his name.
Such tactics lower the quality of the debate.

Was it a miracle or wasn't it?

Hey, I'm an equal opportunity name-gamer! Besides, "Huckabee" is just too good not to make fun of.

Seriously though, Clinton knew how to use religious language to connect with his listeners. Huckabee seems much more enamored with the substance of what he's saying than just using the phraseology.

I'll remember that the next time I hear "Billary." I do note that I haven't seen this from you.
