Hyundai has been making luxury cars for the Korean market since the early 9o's when I lived there. They are a big step ahead of the Sonata. I'll stick with my Benz, however.

I saw the commercial during the superbowl and was disgusted.

Wow that really looks Lexus-like. Judging from some of their recent models I bet it's a damned nice car.

Hate to say it, but it looks like Chris Bangle's vision of car styling has reached "viral" levels.

I hate to say it, but looks wise, I'm a little impressed, considering it is a Hyundai. Expecially when looking back at the Excel they used to sell in the late 80's, this car doesn't even look like it's made by the same car company.
The exterior likeness to a Benz is somewhat startling though - I didn't expect that.

I'm not impressed. Styling needs improvement-of course I say that about 90% or more of what's sold today. Engine output sounds impressive, and it probably rides nice and all that, but I'm not willing to bet $30,000 on the long-term durability of a Hyundai. I'll keep my W123's.

Of course it will be. Doesn't have an extra 1000 pounds worth of electronics and electric motors.

The styling looks like Infiniti/Passat/BMW/Subaru. Only the grille looks unique. If people can get used to the idea of a Hyundai luxury car, and it actually feels like a premium car, then it might do pretty well.
