umm, the human body is already a "dna chip"

There's already a Federal dna database of convicted and non-convicted citizens and illegals.

DNA segments have been incorporated into an integrated circuit package so that the package, properly programmed, can recognize the DNA. A sniff is all it takes.

So let's say I want to find an Hawaiian lawyer who is a real PITA and I don't know where he is on planet Earth. I run a sample of his DNA (taken from his dirty underwear) through an amplifier (makes multiple copies of DNA fragments) and then incorporate say, 1,000 fragments onto 1,000,000 chips and distribute the packages in every significant airport, seaport, train station, bus station, men's room and Mercedes museum on the planet. Each chip is set to buzz when it detects some threshold number of fragments from his DNA. Sounds great, huh? We'll bust that perp!

The lower the threshold, the more false-positive hits but the more likely he will be to detect just off a portion of a flake of skin wafting by the men's room hand dryer. Oh, .... false positives ... You mean innocent people?
