** "'Butt' officer...I don't have any alcohol on my breathe..." **
I was at a sports-bar this evening, watching the WI. vs. IL. Mens' Basketball Game (WI. won).
There were two women, to my left, that were having an "animated" discussion about some teens that were hospitalized a few days ago, due to alcohol-poisoning...no big deal until the one chick mentioned the method of ingestation... Somehow (I didn't hear the exact details...but my imagination is just 'revved' like you wouldn't believe! ), the "participants" either inserted a dry tampon into their rectum, then inject the alcohol of their choice, or they soaked the tampon in the alcohol of choice, then rammed the tampon in. This method of alcohol ingestation is apparently called "BUTT-BOMBS." The alcohol is, apparently, quickly absorbed through the rectal tissue wall, and the "participant" becomes quickly intoxicated without the problem of bar-breathe or dealing with up-chucking. But, because of "newness" of this technique, there appears to be a bit the newbies haven't learned/figured out in how this effects the "victim" and what the long-term (pardon the pun) "ram"-ifications will be... Anyone heard of this? How long has this been going on? What are the effects of an alcohol-sponge-enama? Inquiring minds are trying to wrap their heads around this one...

That method seems to have replaced the semi-lethal Vodka Enemas which were quite au courant in these parts several years ago.
Well, kids being kids and all............are bound to "experiment" |

I'm afraid to think of what this does to your body. I imagine there will be someone out there who will do this until their A$$ falls out or something.

Since alcohol makes its way into the bood stream, it will still register on a breathalyzer, bar breath or no. I think we will have true social decline when they start serving (administering?) these at the local watering hole.
We can probably give credit to the internet for diffusing such "knowledge" in the first place.

I know the "big thing" for awhile was morning glory tea. There must have been something circulating around via the 'net about drinking morning glory tea for it's hallucinigenic effects. We'd have tie-died high school kids coming in, usually in groups, looking to buy like 5 lbs. of morning glory seed. The first couple times I thought it was strange but didn't really think anything of it. A month or so later there was an article, I believe in the Advocate, about the tea. After that I just told the kids that we were all sold out. At least those looking for larger quantities. Yes, I profiled and stereotyped, but there's not a lot of acreage planted with morning glories around here.

I guess with that method, you can skip all the socializing and get right to the black-outs.

No need to bother with quality liquors. I guess the cheap stuff will do if you're ingesting it like this. I'm laughing, having a image of a bar with a bunch of up-turned butts running the length of it . . . .

You're right though...you don't know what the kids are doing unless you listen...REALLY CAREFULLY...and as parents/grandparents, we need to keep our mouths shut long enough to actually hear what they're saying...then we'll know what they're actually doing...even if it's something as distasteful (pardon the pun) as "Butt-Bombs" - I'm wondering how many E-Rooms have been pulling strings out of kids lately and whether, or not, this has made it to any medical journals yet...

I have to say, demand for larger quantities has waned over the years so I suspect they've moved onto the next buzz.

Wow, thats just wrong! I think I'd give up drinking before doing that!
The drinking part is 90% of the fun. I love stumbling around the dorm with a half full expensive bottle of Russian Vodka in my hand swearing at people and in general being beligerant.
