Slot machines
I occasionally go to the local casino, maybe once a month. It is really my only vice, I don't drink or smoke. What I spend over the course of a year is pretty small, maybe 2k?
I only play slot machines. Now I know that there is no way to beat the slot machine, that I will always lose in the end. But it seems weird that sometimes it just seems to go my way and I win and win and win. I do try to use a system. What I do is I will play a machine until I either play the bonus round or I hit some big combination. I figure that is the time to switch machines as I am usually ahead at that point. I won't play a machine to long that is just losing. I also try to play machine that are at the end of rows or in the flow of traffic on the idea that they will put the higher paying machines where more people can see them. I also will play max lines, but will start at the smallest bet then bet one higher, and so on, until I reach the max bet, then go back to the smallest bet. The idea is that you will only win big doing max bet, but if you bet max every time, you will go broke fast. So again, I know that I have no chance of wining in the long run, but I can think of times where I just win machine after machine and leave with several hundred dollars. Of course I remember times when I just lose and lose and they are more often. |

Never underestimate the power of coincidence.

The probability of you winning slot machines really has nothing to do with how long you play. Haven't you ever taken a statistics class?
