cool idea

Good luck MS - I've pondered such tasks as well. I've also debated tilt-up concrete wall panels with real stone -cast face down in the form.....or slipform stone masonry too (I've posted that on here before). You could even put a formliner in the tilt-up wall panel and tint/color the concrete to match your siding to look like stone and skip the mortar step (although you indicated otherwise). I'm always interested in making it load bearing - strickly from a theoretical side of things, as a redundant wall is a waste of material.

What are the dimensions of your addition? That may/may not influence a suggestion too. Are you pouring a floor slab/crawl space/basement, etc? Are you on level ground (as in, any earth loads against your new wall?)

If it were me - I'd pour additional width for a ledge on your concrete substructure, whether that's a basement wall or spread footing.

Let us know what you decide - I'm curious to know what pans out.
