I just found out they have a website and thought I'd let everyone know about it. If you're in the area, this place has the best cheesesteaks I've eaten anywhere. It's rumored that Bill Cosby and many Sports Celebrities have their cheesesteaks FedEx'ed to them from this restaurant.

Hmmm, I'll have to try it - never been there before. I agree though...I like straying from the Pat's/Geno's routine....but they are closer to the stadiums.

Maybe a potential for the PA GTG? Hit up some of the north side junkyards too? I know where Bala is....but where is New Ringold?

I know, 76 miles north. Not worth a trip to a junk yard for a wagon with a blue interior.

Mama's uses a three cheese blend and about 3 lbs. of steak. It's good for 2 heavy meals. I'm always happy to get one, if hitting a junkyard is included , even better. Bearoff automotive is near there too.

I was in Philly several years ago with the family and we had to make a cheesesteak stop. Of couse my wife being a fervent UConn women's basketball fan there was no way we were going to go to Pat's (where the TN fans went) over Geno's even there is no connection other than sharing the first name of a rival's basketball coach. For what it was I thought they were pretty tasty.

I had one in some Irish bar in the train station over the summer and it was real good, thin sliced steak (as opposed to shaved) with provalone, hot cherry peppers and toasted.

Personally, I think Pat's and Geno's are all about the center city experience. The steaks aren't that great. The rolls are good, but they aren't the only ones that use the good rolls. I am disgusted by the "Whiz Steak". I prefer real cheese. The last time I ate a steak from either of those places I was disappointed in the amount of meat they used for the cost of the sandwich.

If you are in East Lansing go to Lansings Best Steakhouse not far from the Breslin center and have a cheese steak, its better than the ones in Philly.

I'm all for processed cheese food, but I tend to agree. It was one of those Philly tourist things we just had to do, though. I wish I could remember the name of the place in the 30th Street Station but it escapes me. It was a real good sammich. They had a bunch of wild game dishes on the menu as well. It was surprising to me. Or maybe we just caught them on a good day.
