I didn't believe it when I clicked on the first link. Then I clicked on the second, I still didn't believe what I was reading. This went on until the fifth link when I started feeling the tide turn. It finally dawned on me when I got to the twelfth link... a tornado had hit Atlanta! No need to click on the final one I guess.

The footage is astonishing; I know all of those places so well! My many friends in/around Atlanta are all ok, although one friend's office in Cabbagetown is completely demolished.

El Presidente, check in!
Mikemover?
Crowe?

Also, Refuel Biodiesel (formerly Vegenergy) is down there in Cabbagetown too- hope Rob is ok there.

Best to all- first drought, then no Piedmont Park festivals, then this!?! I guess the GA assembly can't blame Tennessee for the tornado, unfortunately...

The tornado passed less than 2 miles north of my home in Atlanta.

There are some residential areas that are devastated but luckily the majority of the damage is in commercial rather than residential sections.

Was the wildest weather I've seen in Atlanta and I have been here for a LOOONG time. The sky was GREEN.

Everything's okay. We did have several rounds of nastiness on Saturday - the closest doppler-indicated tornado was about ten miles to the North of us. We didn't get any hail or other damage thankfully.

Hope everyone else faired as well.

Atlanta Tornado

Check out how close this tree came to hitting a 300 D on Haas in East Atlanta. I live a few streets over and had no trees come down. Sorry for the small picture. Here is a link to the picture.

Hi, the major damage from the tornado was in the down town area. I did get some hail damage to my roof the next day when another storm line passed through the area. I was actually out of town watching the Alabama basketball game on TV when the tornado hit. The Alabama player that hit a 3-point shot to take the SEC basketball game into overtime at the Georgia Dome kept a lot of people off the street when the tornado hit. That shot saved a lot of people from being in harms way.
