I hate night time twisters

Woke up to no power today. Seems a TORNADO passed right by my house and hit our power substation, destroying it. No, I don't live in a mobile home.

I heard a rumbling last night but was more interested in the hail that was hammering my vehicles at the time.

I have the same complacentcy with weather; not a good trait to posess. I'm very happy my new place has garage space to protect from hail and a finished basement, in case the worst case scenario happens. Every Monday at 12:00 they test the tornado sirens, a very erie 5 minutes for anyone who's lived through a tornado in these parts.

Greensburg was competely leveled about a year ago, the mile wide F5 tornado left almost nothing. That was kind of a wake up call, since the town is less than 100 miles West of Wichita. We also had Hoisington and Andover trashed in major events during my lifetime.

You're very lucky.

Wow! For those of you out there that only woke up to some inconvenience, that would be some sort of miracle!

Spent all day yesterday and most of today helping clean up. No one was killed but there was one injury.

Trees do all kinds of funny things when you try to cut them down after a tornado has played with them. We had one "unravel" when it was topped and another jumped 10 feet while cutting the base from the stump.

I have to commend the emergency services for their speed and efficiency.

We had one tear up a street two blocks down one day, and we were wondering why the cable didn't work.

Wow lookit that tree, pulled straight from the ground.

Must be God being angry at all those gay pride parades

Im in California so we have earthquakes instead... though we havent had a big one for a while.

Recently there was a huge gust of wind that shook our whole house and vibrated all the windows. Lasted maybe 10 seconds. Next morning we see our fence got knocked down..
