Watched my three being born. (Nurses and I darn near deliver the second one ourselves-Dr. was late and things were moving fast). Watching the delivery end can mess with your thinking. Still, watch, it is an amazing process and it will give your a better appreciation for what your woman is going through for the child and you. Don't even think about not being there unless you are really likely to faint.
That said, congradulations! My daughter is a never ending joy to me. May you have the same good fortune.

Congratulations Whiskey Dan! Watching your children being born is a great experience if you can stand the verbal abuse.

Dan called me earlier this morning and they had a healthy near-giant baby girl!! They hadn't weighed her yet but all were thinking 10+ pounds! Poor Tab, although it was a C-section.
I did not dissuade Dan from watching the birth, just told him not to look at the "business end" directly. It profoundly effects future perceptions. Sorry, it just does......
Where do you think the expression "Shove a hotdog down a hallway" came from.....
Congrats to Dan, Tab and Sarah Allison. I'm sure he will chime in later......

Meet Sarah Allison

Thanks!

The first day of spring 08 will be remembered.

It looks like we'll be coming home this sat or sun. Mom's got some recovering to do. I'm exhausted.

If you look carefully, you can see a bit of W126 grease under my nail.

She looks like a beautiful healthy little girl. Having kids makes everything else in life seem insignificant.

Congratulations!

You will not believe your feelings when in fifteen years or so young men start coming to the door to take her out!

I envision a lot of counseling, comiserating and venting sessions in the coming years. Mine is 8yo and that's too close for my comfort.

Nah, you've got plenty of time to work this out before your daughter is ld enough to date.

Here's instructions:
-Buy yourself a black S-Class
-Buy yourself black Shades, black Fedora, black suit
-Buy a violin. Carry it everywhere (in its case, of course).
-Be conspicuous, but act like you're trying not to be.

If your daughter is 8, you have 6-8 years to solidify this image before she's likely to date.

Then, when she decides she's ready to date boys, invite them over. When they come to get her, say cryptic things.

Problem solved. She'll be in college before she meets any boys who aren't scared to death of you, and by that point your level of influence is limited anyway.

My oldest daughter is about to be 22 and my youngest is 11. It wasn't fun the first time and I'm not looking forward to it again. My son is almost 20 and you worry about them too.....
Good luck with all that Dan. {and I was young with the first one}

Dan, that's not auto grease, that's diaper grease.
