I agree. I am fortunate that my oldest daughter and youngest daughter both wanted wagons. The oldest one wnated a wagon to carry her film gear and the youngest wanted a wagon to carry her surfboards. The middle daughter got the new Rabbit--it has airbags all over the inside of the car.

But if your daugther is as cautious as you say she is, then let her drive the Miata. She will be fine!

Let her drive it for a while. She may not even like it. That first generation of Miatas are very rough to drive. Creaky, rattly, floppy over rough roads. Fun as hell on a curvy section though!

Maybe you can get her the next generation (NB) which have much stiffer chassis and more modern safety features.
