Frugal adventurers

http://www.wrinkliesontherun.com/cheapwayround/cwrindex.htm

They start across the US on April 10th.
Not sure I'd pick a Fiat as a round-the-world vehicle.

Didn't check the link, didn't need to. I work on the water- where sailboaters ARE the definition of frugal adventurerers.

I know some cheap powerboaters to, and I know some sailers who spend the GDP of a third world country racing every year.

I prefer a ’51 Grumman.

(Not to be confused with a 51’ Grumman.)

Hardly "frugal". But surprisingly less than what many boaters put into their adventures.... racing... and/or oceanic occupations.

Yeah but boating is more fun...flying is faster though.

Of course the best of both worlds would be having a choper on the back of your boat.

Actually – The best of both worlds is having a Grumman that flies, with two Sea-Doos mounted under the wings.

(Nope - Not ours. Now, a friends out in AZ.)

I used to have a Fiat. I'm SURE I wouldn't pick one for that. I wouldn't want to drive one to the next town.

FIAT's stink. My dad had one and that's he perfected the "wrench toss" for the Garage Olympics.

And he was a mechanic, no less! We non-mechanically inclined don't have a prayer with one of those.
