What to do, what to do... Bold face 16 y/o theif issues

Well, long story short, I found my hubs...

I parted out most of the `90 tracker in my high school auto shop. I took that truck down to a carpeted shell of a tracker, and sold alot of parts out of it... $600 worth, plus the doors, tailgate, transmission, and stereo, is in my daily driver... And also scrapped it for $120 or so. Bought the pile for $600, got 6 months outta it, so whatever.

At the point that I wheeled it into the shop, I had already sold the hard-top off it. So it's a open air vehicle with locking doors. I figure it aint worth locking, you can reach the lock from where the rear top should be...
Anyways, so I'm taking the calipers, pads, rotors, axle, and hubs off this truck in the morning... I was skipping 1st and 2nd hour study halls, to work on it, and coming back for voc auto 6th and 7th. I was gonna take the parts out after 7th (school's over)

Come back 6th, and the door's partially open, and the hubs are gone.
There are 3 trackers at school (well, 4 including both of mine, but...)
Two belong to me, one belongs to a girl, and the other one is a lifted pile of crap belonging to a kid in 4th hour auto class...

I confront him about it, and he said he doesn't know about them, and said that "that kid over there's a real thief"...

I trust him as far as I can throw his 6 foot tall fatbody...

I report them, and all is well... Except I'm missing my hubs.

Month rolls by, and I see his truck, with my hubs on it... I made him take them off, and got the school cop involved. He's now kicked out of auto class, and was recorded as a theif.

He got a job now, at the mcdonalds I used to work at, and I found out he's bragging that the cops didnt do anything. If I wasnt 18, there would be some violent acts being committed. Cant do that, I'd prefer to do it the legal way.

I want him to get a fine, or SOMETHING. Not just a "slap on the wrist" and "dont do that again" from the cops, I want blood from him. He's a bold faced lying sack of crap, and he's stolen from my friends before (nobody reported him, afraid of him)

I'm not worried about him trying to assault me or anything, I've analyzed how he fights and I can easily outmaneuver him and put him down (he relys on his weight and size. he will fall hard if we fight)

He doesnt have a parking pass, so I'm reporting him every day... Dunno if the parking lot nazi gave him tickets yet (nazi=coach, looser theif= star jv football guy. Our football team sucks...)

Anyways, what can I do to get him into trouble legally?

His tracker doesnt have mud flaps, and the tires stick out pretty far. Exhaust is broken too. There's tobacco products visible on the dash, and our school's a tobacco free zone or whatever. The school cop says that he'd need to see the looser with the tobacco before he can give a ticket.

Can somebody help? I want justice...

Ever see what petroleum products do to packing-peanuts?

Try this sometime...in a glass container, drop two or three peanuts into it, pour in a little gas...

Give you any ideas?

Just make sure ALL YOUR VEHICLES have locking fuel caps/covers...

:tt2:

I leave for AIT in a few months, I cant exactly do this childish crap...

I'd rather find a legal route, you know?

actually your school cop is completely wrong. Just put it this way if there was an open bottle of alcohol in your car and you were pulled over you would be committed of that being yours, what is the difference of some cigs. call your local PD and see what they have to say and what the cop says. Dont listen to your school cop go to the police department and say what has happened.

that's a good start... More like this would be helpful

Thanks alot, I appreciate it.

Nate:

On one hand you're saying you can take him, one-on-one, and on the other hand, you're saying that you're turning him in and nothing's happening...

What do you want?

You already know that the "law" is slow at best, ineffectual even more and non-existant at worse - and you're wanting "legal" to "pack his 5hit" for him?

You got your hubs back, you're reporting him to the Parking-Nazis, local cops (if they care) could write him up for "Butts/Chew" possession (big crime there!)...

What's left?

Don't let it eat at you...

Come on the forum...vent a little bit...we'll throw you some "fun" ideas and kick his carcass around in print...no harm, no foul and no record for you...

And besides, if something "should" roll off our fingertips, and it trips your fancy...what have you got to lose?

You've done everything you can and he got kicked out of class...he's been labled at school...that's about all you can expect.

Besides, if he opens his yap, most folks know the clown's a dumb@55 piece of brain-dead DNA...what could he possible SAY that would be damaging to anyone, including you...You're the one that's going into the military, not Mr. Slug-bait...

You've already proved to anyone that matters that your 'nads are bigger and better than his will ever be...don't raise him to your level and don't go down to his...leave him to rot, right where's he's at...

In a few years, you'll be Sgt.-material...Him? Flippin' burgers at some other no-name burger joint, or dead...

Leave him be...you're better off NOW than he'll be in 10 years.

:tt2:

How about you just let it go? He stole from you, the police arrested him and he was punished as the law saw fit. Thats why we have impartial judges, if the victim(s) were the ones dealing justice then everyone would end up dead.

I agree with mgburg above.

Most jocks end up that way, he will only go so far in life with throwing around a ball as his main achievement(s).

If he was truly "arrested" there should be a police report on file and I think it would be public record.

1. Get an adult friend (makes more of an impact and doesn't look like a kid ratting out another kid) to walk into McD's when punk-boy is working and order some food. Choose a time when it's not too busy. Adult friend sees punk-boy and asks cashier to speak to manager privately.

2. Adult friend tells manager he thinks he remembers punk-boy being involved with a theft at the local school and warns manager to "keep an eye on the cash drawer..." Adult friend leaves.

3. One week later, adult friend comes back into McD's after obtaining copy of police report. Again asks for manager (it HAS to be the same manager or it's much less effective) and hands him the copy of the report. "I was right about that kid... If he steals at school, no telling what he might do here... Tamper with the food, whatever... Just looking out for you..."

Adult friend may also want to ask manager for the name of the district manager and a way to contact him. He doesn't have to say anything about why and not knowing will prompt the manager to take action. If something happens (something gets ripped off) and the manager knew about it and didn't do anything to prevent it (firing punk-boy) he'll be in trouble.

All legal and the punk will at least know why he was punished. It'll be even sweeter if he's worked there long enough to get "used" to having the money (like bought a new XB360 or something like that) and the carpet gets yanked out from under him... :D

The reason for this is because I HATE theifs. I have had two radios stolen, a wallet stolen, and then the hubs. I caught this idiot, and would have loved to rearrange his face, except it'd be an assult on a minor. Cant do that, but since he's a big dumb idiot and might take a swing, I would love to minimize a personal threat.

I think a tobacco fine is like $125 or so, that's like 2 weeks mcpay :D

It is not up to you to determine whether the punishment fits the crime.

He is just some losser who cares its over.

remove the cores from the valve stems on the tires and put the caps back on...

I think you learned a cheap lesson that you can't trust everyone, and you have to secure your stuff.

I agree with everyone to let it go. I often have to deal with people who are a pain. I manage some apartments. I have had people steal tools, and I looked upon it as cheap lesson that I have to put a few more locks on doors. And I know better who to trust or not.

More importantly, you have to take the high road, which you have been doing. You have to realize that things may eventually come in front of a judge or police, and if you take the high road, then you can tell your side of the story truthfully. Cops and Judges have good bull**** detectors and will be able to tell who is lying. Also, further on in life, other people, such as bosses or fellow employees, will realize that you are to be trusted, and that will get you far. In business, trust goes a long way. The only people I am in business with are my brothers, mainly because I know I can trust them.

Just a quick story. I had a tenant who was a bad dude, prison, ex-con, beats up women (I'm a man by the way) but I was afraid of him anyways. I finally got rid of him and the court gave me a judgment for $1500 for unpaid rent. I might have been able to collect some of it from his girlfriend who was a tenant as well. He was such pain, I was just happy just to be done with him. I won't try to collect. I can sleep better at night now.

Just be happy to be done with him

Hope that helps.
