Silly Dell laptop question
I just got a Dell laptop. On some of the keys there is a third symbol, problem is I can figure out how to switch between symbols? Of course I tried the "shift" key but that does not work. I have tried most of the tab, ctrl and alt keys, but i can't figure it out. The problem is that I can't type the @ key, so I can't type my email address.
Any help? |

Maybe the function key? Should be labeled "Fn" or something like that. On most laptops its near control and alt.

I just looked at my Dell and the blue functions are activated by holding the Fn key down and the white ones are the shift key. The @ symbol is over the 2. Which model do you have?

In the Windows setup, make sure it's set to a US keyboard spec. not european or asian or whatever... Look in the control panel under "Regional Settings" There are a ton of places to change things in there.
